he Jakarta Police are ready to deploy some 41,000 joint personnel to secure the simultaneous regional elections in Greater Jakarta on Wednesday, an official has said.
Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Argo Yuwono said that the joint personnel from the police, the National Military (TNI) and the Community Protection Agency (Linmas) would secure the elections in Depok and Bekasi in West Java, and Tangerang in Banten.
They will cover more than 14,000 polling stations.
“Each polling station will be guarded by two officers and four community protection personnel,” Argo told journalists at the police headquarters on Monday, adding that some 29,000 personnel were police officers.
