S

tudents whose citizenship identity numbers (NIKs) could not be verified by the official public school enrollment website, PPDB Online, were told to enroll in private schools on Thursday – the deadline for registration.

"The solution is to enroll in private schools," Jakarta Education Agency communications chief Junaedi said as quoted by tempo.co.

Problems over invalid registration, due mostly to errors involving NIKs, family cards and addresses, were among issues reported to the public school enrollment service center at SMKN 1 state vocational high school in Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta.

The enrollment service center has received 3,600 complaints since May. The service center will continue to operate until July 21. (rfa)
