A technical glitch in its online ticketing system has forced KiosTix to partner with Blibli.
nline ticket seller KiosTix has enlisted the help of e-commerce platform Blibli.com to sell Asian Games tickets following a technical glitch in the KiosTix system that has seen thousands of fans fail to purchase tickets.
Over the past three days, people could not buy any Asian Games tickets at all, because the ticketing system was down.
Indonesian Asian Games Organizing Committee (INASGOC) secretary-general Eris Herryanto said that, starting Friday, spectators could buy Asian Games tickets on blibli.com.
“KiosTix ticketing system is malfunctioning, so the sale of tickets will be conducted through Blibli’s website,” he said.
Customers who have bought tickets through KiosTix can redeem paper tickets starting on Friday at the KiosTix office in Pejaten Barat, South Jakarta, or at ticket booths at gates 2, 3, 4 or 7 of the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) sports complex.
Eris added that KiosTix would also sell tickets offline at the KiosTix office, at the GBK complex and at Alfamart stores as well as online at akulaku.com.
Regarding the glitch in the ticketing system, Eris said INASGOC had yet to give sanctions to KiosTix.
“We see that KiosTix has taken responsibility for what has happened by partnering with Blibli and other companies. They are still fulfilling their duties in accordance with the cooperation agreement [between INASGOC and KiosTix],” he added.
Besides errors in the online ticketing system, many have complained about the complicated process of exchanging online tickets for paper tickets, which are required to enter the venues.
On Thursday, hundreds of people stood in line at the KiosTix office to exchange their tickets.
