lag carrier Garuda Indonesia has recorded the best on time performance (OTP) in the Asia Pacific with 90.4 percent of its 15,000 flights in October landing on time, according to official airline guide Flight View.

Its results in October surpassed its performance in September, when it recorded 90 percent OTP arrivals, making the big five in OTP.

With October’s performance, Garuda Indonesia was the only South Asian airline in the global big five for OTP arrivals.

“Garuda Indonesia is trying to maintain its OTP performance, which has showed a positive trend,” said Garuda Indonesia operation director Bambang Adisurya Angkasa in a statement received on Monday.

“We will intensify coordination, particularly with those in service lines so that they will prioritize their commitments to ‘operational excellence’ standard service for global aviation flight.”

Bambang said the passengers had also contributed to Garuda Indonesia’s performance by checking-in on time.

As an airline registered with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) operational safety audit (IOSA), Bambang added, Garuda Indonesia was also committed to maintaining the operational safety of its aircraft. (bbn)
