razilian soccer star Ronaldinho is set to join Indonesia’s top players in an All Stars squad that is taking on a team of young players in the Alex Noerdin Cup, which will be played at the Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium in Palembang, South Sumatra.
“Rest assured that Ronaldinho will fulfill the invitation to play in the Alex Noerdin Cup in Palembang. Despite the hot weather, he will have no problem,” his manager, Olliver Mandengue, said on Saturday.
The exhibition match will be played on March 31.
Besides playing, the two-time Ballon d’Or award winner will also hold a coaching clinic for young players aged 10 to 12.
Oliver said Ronaldinho was very excited about visiting Palembang because Indonesia was known for having exciting players.
“That is why he can’t wait to see and meet them in person to encourage and motivate them,” he added.
Alex Noerdin, the former South Sumatra governor, said the tournament was part of his attempts to find new players who would hopefully become the next stars at Sriwijaya FC, the local soccer team.
