he ground at Pandanwangi Weapon Range in Lumajang, East Java, trembled for about 15 seconds on Wednesday as four Sukhoi jet fighters thundered through the clear sky, captivating many of those watching in anticipation.
The four jet fighters from the Indonesian Air Force’s counterstrike team flew in coordinated formation and went on to drop dozens of bombs, hitting their targets on the ground and creating blast sounds.
The demonstration was one of many showcased by the Air Force during the Fire Power Demo, which also saw dozens of rocket launchers and other jet fighters put on a show.

“We hold joint training exercises every year, but this year’s is the most integrated one,” Air Force spokesperson Air Commodore Fajar Adriyanto said.
The Air Force claimed that the event — which took three months of preparation — was the largest and most comprehensive exercise it had ever held.
About 2,400 military personnel from 18 squadrons from across the country’s 34 provinces participated in the demonstration, which saw at least 67 military aircraft, including cargo aircraft, helicopters, jet fighters and reconnaissance aircraft.
