5 Fast facts about ONE superstar Angela Lee Angela Lee.

O

NE Championship superstar Angela Lee is making her way back to the Circle on Oct. 1 for an epic trilogy matchup that has been years in the making.

The atomweight queen will challenge ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion Xiong Jing Nan in the main event of ONE Fight Night 2 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Lee has been nothing short of dazzling so far in her ONE tenure, and before she makes her second grab at strawweight gold, we break down five facts about “Unstoppable” that fans should know.

Lee was the youngest-ever MMA World Champion

The Singaporean-American sensation powered through her first opponents in ONE to score a ONE Atomweight World Title shot against Japanese veteran Mei “VV” Yamaguchi at ONE: ASCENT TO POWER in May 2016.

Lee was only 19 years old, and the two stars battled for five solid rounds before she was declared the winner via a unanimous decision. This performance earned her divisional gold, as well as the accolade of being the youngest MMA World Champion ever at the time.

“Unstoppable” has held the World Title since then and has successfully defended it on five occasions.

She has two siblings in ONE

While Lee has become one of the most famous fighters in ONE Championship, two of her younger siblings have also created their own star power in the organization.

Her brother is Christian “The Warrior” Lee, who reclaimed his ONE Lightweight World Championship from Ok Rae Yoon in the main event of ONE 160 last month.

And her teenage sister Victoria, aptly nicknamed “The Prodigy,” currently holds a perfect 3-0 record inside the Circle.

‘Unstoppable’ is ONE’s first mom-champ

Lee took a two-year hiatus from fighting to focus on starting a family, but she returned to the Circle at ONE X in March to defend her World Title against Thai superstar Stamp Fairtex.

There was much talk about whether the Evolve MMA star would be able to keep up with her in-form opponent, given the length of time she had been away.

But Lee finished the match via submission in the second round to retain the gold and earn a new title as the organization’s first mom-champ.

She has mastered multiple martial arts

A life-long martial artist, “Unstoppable” holds a black belt in taekwondo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. She first competed when she was only 6 years old.

Alongside mixed martial arts, she is also an accomplished wrestler. She is both a World Pankration Champion and a Hawaii State Wrestling Champion.

These skills have helped her accumulate a professional record of 11-2, with eight of her victories coming by submission.

This next match could be another history-making moment

Beyond being one of the most-anticipated rematches in the organization’s history, her upcoming fight with Xiong is especially important to Lee’s career.

If she is successful in her pursuit of the strawweight World Title, she will become the first female two-division titleholder in ONE Championship history.

Both fighters hold a win over the other, with “The Panda” taking the first at ONE: A NEW ERA in March of 2019, and Lee winning the second in October 2019 at ONE: CENTURY PART I.

Before Lee takes on Xiong at ONE Fight Night 2 on Oct. 1, catch all the action at ONE 161: Petchmorakot vs. Tawanchai on Thursday, Sept. 29, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
