Airports in Bali, Surabaya, Balikpapan and Manado have been recognized for their public service by the Transportation Ministry.
The Prima Utama Award was given directly by Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi on Monday in Jakarta to representatives of Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali; Juanda International Airport in Surabaya, East Java; Sultan Aji Mahmud Sulaiman Sepinggan Airport in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan; and Sam Ratulangi Airport in Manado, North Sulawesi -- all managed by state-owned airport operator Angkasa Pura (AP) I.
"This award is the result of our employees' hard work to increase services to our customers," said Juanda Airport general manager Yuwono, as quoted by tempo.co.
The award committee, which included representatives from the Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Ministry, the Indonesian Ombudsman, academics, transportation experts and journalists, assessed airports between June and August this year. The airports were assessed for their service standard, procedures, human resources, complaints handling, customer satisfaction, public service information system and productivity in accomplishing service targets.
The ministry presented the Prima Madya Award to Adisucipto International Airport in Yogyakarta, Central Java; Lombok International Airport in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara; Ahmad Yani Airport in Semarang, Central Java; Adi Soemarmo Airport in Solo, Central Java; and Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport in Makassar, South Sulawesi; as well as the Prima Pratama Award to Syamsuddin Noor Airport in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan.
