tate-owned railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) has selected a number of tourist destinations, including the Batu International Islamic Tourism Exhibition in Batu Citu, East Java, for promotional tickets with 10 percent discounts off the original price.
PT KAI Regional Operations (Daop) 8 Surabaya public relations manager Gatut Sutiyatmoko said the promotional tickets were aimed at increasing the number of people using trains to travel.

Gatut says the promotional tickets are offered to those who purchase them through the PT KAI stand at the Batu International Islamic Tourism Exhibition held at the Batu City Hall from Dec. 2 to Dec. 4.
The company previously offered tickets discounted at 20 percent for three weeks approaching the holiday season. The Early Holiday Sale program covers the period between Nov. 15 to Dec. 7, particularly for trips on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
The promotional tickets can be ordered by phone at 121, via the mobile app and the website, as well as at the company's external networks available at a number of outlets. (mra/kes)
