ravelers can now utilize Indonesia Airports, a newly launched mobile application by state-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II to search for information about flights and airports in Indonesia.

The application was first introduced in a seminar on Saturday. Using the application, users can find real-time flight schedules, terminal information, weather forecasts and baggage estimates, kompas.com reports. Users can also get flight reminders by entering their flight schedules into the “my flight” feature within the application.

Indonesia Airports is also equipped with airport-related information, such as locations of nearby taxi stations, lounges, toilets or ATM centers. It also contains information about partner stores within the airport for users’ shopping references.

"Everything is monitored real-time because the information displayed in the application originates from integration [with] the airports and airlines,” said Muhammad Awaludin, president director of PT Angkasa Pura II.

Aside from catering to the travelers’ needs, the application is also catering to the needs of internal stakeholders through services such as real-time plane positioning, airport reporting services and media monitoring.

To utilize the application, users will be asked to register their name, phone number and e-mail address. Currently, the application hosts only information about airports run by PT Angkasa Pura II, including Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport in Jakarta, Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung, Kualanamu International Airport in Medan and Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport in Aceh.

Indonesia Airports can be downloaded for free from Google Play Store or App Store. (mas/asw)
