Karetan Market partners with waste management startup company

or the third week of Karetan Market, the event’s committee is partnering up with a startup company called sampahpemuda (www.sampahmuda.com) that works in waste management.
Sampahpemuda is a platform where people can learn about waste management and even make money from the waste.
“Sampahpemuda helps in recycling your waste that can be turned into other things. You can also get money from your waste or donate it for environmental protection,” told the committee’s head Mei Kristiani.
“Organic [waste] will be made into fertilizer whilst non-organic [waste] will become decoration,” she added.
Another thing that is new for the third Karetan Market that is located at Radja Pendapa Camp, Kendal regency, is kite-painting activity for children.
The head of Indonesia Charms Generation (GenPI) Jateng Shafigh Pahlevi Lontoh promised to hold Karetan Market every week, “We want to create a new attraction, old school vibe inside a market. We hold this [event] every Sunday morning and posts it on social media,” told Safigh. (kes)
