o celebrate the upcoming Sail Sabang 2017, the capital city of Indonesia, Jakarta, hosted a running event called Fun Run 5K Road to Sail Sabang 2017 at FX Sudirman on Nov.19. Jakarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno took part in the event where after finishing his run, he enjoyed enjoy a cup of Aceh coffee.

“Aceh coffee has been popular for a long time and it is one that is recognized all over the world […] Don’t hesitate to come to Aceh,” Sandiaga said.

Sail Sabang 2017 is slated to run from Nov. 28 until Dec. 5 with President Joko Widodo expected to attend the main event that will be held at Container Terminal (CT) 3 in Weh Island, Sabang.

“We are waiting for you in Sabang, enjoy and experience the Sail Sabang 2017 event,” told Aceh Deputy Governor Nova Iriansyah. “With huge events are being held in Aceh, international tourists will come and see for themselves that Aceh is safe and peaceful,” Nova added.

A promotional event called Aceh Night in Bali was held at Lippo Mall Kuta Bali on Nov. 18.

“Both events are important forces in shaping the brand of Cahaya Aceh (Aceh Light) as well as to promote Sail Sabang 2017,” told Aceh culture and tourism department head Reza Fahlevi.

“Aceh Night in Bali offers different kinds of Achenese dishes such as bu kulahmartabakmi, kuah blangong and keumamah. The booth also provides information on Aceh tourism and free souvenirs for visitors,” added Reza. (asw)
