Fourth Karetan Market features Basarnas talk on disaster prevention

or the fourth Karetan Market that will be held on Nov. 26, Indonesian Charms Generation (GenPI) Central Java (Jateng) has asked the participation of National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas).
“Rainy season is here, some areas in Semarang are inundated and suffering from flood so we are partnering [with Basarnas] to educate and give information on the first steps of dealing with the flood, fire, rescue mission during a disaster and others to visitors,” told the event’s committee head Mei Kristiani.
“Members of Basarnas will give basic knowledge on how to wear a life vest, the technique to get on a rubber boat and how to handle the flood. Everything will be presented in a fun way,” she added.
The location of Karetan Market is at Radja Pendapa Camp, Kendal Regency. Presentation from Basarnas is scheduled at 08:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., whilst the market itself is available from 06:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. (asw)
