A

phreatic eruption at Mount Merapi on Friday morning has disrupted flights to and from Adisutjipto International Airport in Yogyakarta. A number of flights have been affected, including Lion Air flights, as reported by Antara.

The steps have been taken by the airline group in line with an official announcement by the airport authority that the airport would be reopened at 2:17 p.m. following the closure due to Mt. Merapi’s phreatic eruption and volcanic activity.
