Stanford University, Oxford University, Imperial College, the University of California Los Angeles, the University of California Berkley -- what do these universities have in common?

They are some of the top 20 universities in the world, according to The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2018. And ACS Jakarta (Anglo-Chinese School Jakarta) students have been given the opportunity to study at them.

They gained acceptance or provisional admission to these prestigious universities even before their examination results were released. Two students from the recently graduated Grade 12 cohort received unconditional acceptance from Stanford University and many were provisionally admitted to top universities in the United Kingdom.

One of the graduates, Arimbi Sri Wahyuputri Wahono, scored 45 points (a perfect score) in the 2018 International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) examination, an amazing feat considering that only 0.4 percent of candidates get perfect scores (IB Statistics Bulletin).

In fact, more than half of the 2018 graduates scored 36 points and above, all meeting the cut-off scores for Ivy League universities.

Besides the five top universities above, about 70 percent of the ACS Jakarta graduates will be studying at other top universities – the University of Washington, UC San Diego, the University of Wisconsin Madison, the University of Edinburgh, King’s College UK, London School of Economics and Political Science, the University of Warwick, McGill University, the University of British Columbia, the University of Amsterdam, Erasmus University Rotterdam, the University of New South Wales, the University of Melbourne, Monash University, the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, National University of Singapore, Hong Kong University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, which are all in the top 100 world university rankings.

ACS Jakarta is an International Baccalaureate World School and an authorized Cambridge Center offering world standard education to children from ages 3 to 18.
