ith the holy month of Ramadan in full swing, Indonesians across the country eagerly anticipate the looming Eid holiday. Aside from great enthusiasm, Indonesians also greet Ramadan with an increased tendency to shop.

According to Google data, nearly 50 percent of online purchases happen in the first week of Ramadan, with 88 percent of shoppers buying items from at least one retailer that they had never purchased from before. This trend aligns with the time-honoured tradition of Eid, which is a joyous occasion where family members come together and either give gifts or dress up in matching outfits to celebrate the holiday.

Indonesian e-commerce platform Blibli has confirmed this trend, with almost double the number of users shopping during Ramadan, hovering at around 58 percent.

Head of Campaign at PT Global Digital Niaga Tbk (Blibli), Wilson Kiantoro, stated that based on the ongoing trend every year, spending at Blibli doubled during Ramadan 2023.

This year, to commemorate the upcoming Eid, Blibli is rolling out a special double-day promotion on its website from April 2-4, titled the 4.4 Lebaran Sale. The promotion carries the theme of “Pesta Promo Lebaran” and aims to provide Blibli users with relevant offers that will satisfy all their Eid needs.

During the three-day campaign, Blibli users can indulge in exclusive deals catered specifically to Eid, with 100 percent Cashback and free deliveries without minimum payments.
