n an attempt to compete with rival Instagram Stories, Snapchat has rolled out a handful of new features, both creative and cosmetic.

Now available on iOS and Android are snapchats with no time limit, a “magic eraser”, an emoji marker and a new screen format.

While Snaps are known for their brief time limit -- anywhere from one to 10 seconds -- pictures can now be set to “limitless” by tapping the infinity icon. The recipient will be able to view the picture for as long as they want, but once they exit out, the picture will self-destruct, as usual.

The same can be done for videos by tapping the looping icon after recording a snap. Just like the limitless photos, the video will repeat until the recipient decides to close it.

New creative updates include the ability to “draw” with emojis, and the “magic eraser”, which can remove objects from the foreground and replace them with the background.

To make room for the new features, icons will be moving from the top to the right-hand side of the screen.

Said Snapchat in a blog post (https://www.snap.com/en-US/news/), “These changes allow us to continue evolving the Snapchat service and provide a foundation for introducing even more creative tools for making fun snaps.” (sul/kes)
