GoService: A practical solution to manage your vehicle taxes

Indonesia’s leading super app Gojek never ceases to innovate, seeking to make people’s daily lives easier. This has become more prevalent as consumers must adhere to the physical distancing and large scale social restriction policies being implemented.

Gojek, in collaboration with JumpaPay, has launched GoService, to help consumers process their vehicle documents more efficiently. JumpaPay is an Online to Offline (O2O) platform which provides professional services that handle the renewals of vehicle registration certificates and various related other administration documents.

The National Police Traffic Corps, Sr. Comr. Indra Darmawan Iriyanto conveyed his appreciation on the launch of GoService, which also contributes to the national effort to improve the quality of public services.

There are three main features of GoService’s on its initial launch:

  • helping people to renew their vehicle registration certificates (also known as STNK in Indonesian);

  • process vehicle ownership handover documents (called surat balik nama in Indonesian); and

  • process blockages of vehicle registration certificates (called pemblokiran STNK in Indonesian).

This service is currently available in Jakarta, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi through the Gojek app.

“With this new feature, we also hope to encourage people’s compliance in paying vehicle tax,” said Sony Radhityo, Head of Third-Party Platforms at Gojek.

A JumpaPay survey revealed that a manual document submission process at the Vehicle Document Registration Center offices (locally known as Samsat) can take two to four hours. This includes the time spent for commuting, parking and queueing. Meanwhile, GoService allows the document submission process to be done more efficiently by trimming down to only five to ten minutes.

GoService also champions user convenience by applying its GoPay e-wallet system to integrate all transactional processes related to these vehicle document maintenance aspects.

Consumers also can rely on the transparency of this product. GoService ensures that there are no hidden fees charged, with all details related to the transactions transparently displayed on its application. This fact alone should be enough to guarantee its customers transactional transparency.

Separately contacted, JumpaPay chief executive officer and founder Zulfan Fajar expressed his enthusiasm about collaborating with Gojek. He said that both parties shared the same view in the role of technology in making human lives better.

“Drawing upon our various experiences providing professional services to various big corporation clients, we believe that our collaboration with Gojek will give a larger role to technology in making life easier for the society at large. The fact that our application has already been authorized by local Vehicle Document Ownership Centers has just strengthened this conviction,” Zulfan said.

“Making life easier also covers vehicle ownership document application and management processes, which are rife with various technical challenges and obstacles so far,” he added.

JumpaPay has also made sure that its GoService agents adhere to the health and hygiene protection measures to give a sense of safety for its users, including hand-washing and sanitization of vehicles and working equipment as well as physical distancing measures. This also demonstrates Gojek’s commitment to safeguarding its entire ecosystem during the pandemic that embodied with the J3K initiative (Protect your health, protect your hygiene, protect your safety).

Thanks to Gojek’s third-party platforms business arm, Gojek can reach out to a diverse range of markets, catering to their various needs.

This has turned Gojek’s ecosystem into an effective platform to push its business partners to scale up on their business, expanding their markets along the way.

Specifically speaking of Gojek’s Third-Party Platforms (3PP) platform, since March 2020 the superapp has recorded a threefold increase in all transactions conducted under the 3PP platform, covering GoMed, GoMall, GoGive, GoFitness and GoSure.

Throughout 2020 itself, Gojek has already launched several new initiatives under its 3PP platform, namely:

  • GoInvestasi (services for investment endeavors);

  • GoGames with Maingame.com (services for gaming experience));

  • GoSure (hospital cash plan and life insurance scheme management);

  • GoFitness (health and wellness services, including live workout sessions); as well as

  • GoMed (telemedicine services with COVID-19 screenings and testing features).

He said that Gojek’s third party platforms, along with its various products and services, were born out of collaborations with the best companies in their fields to optimize the use of Gojek platforms, to become a business arm with a loyal user base.

“The reach of Gojek’s application and technological reliability through the third-party platform has turned our ecosystem into a very effective platform to boost our partners’ businesses to expand and scale up their businesses,” he said.
