Gojek’s GoBiz app supports growth and digitization of culinary

With GoBiz’s #JalanPinterJualan campaign, Gojek strengthens commitment to support growth of culinary MSMEs.

The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the digital transformation, especially as a critical tool for MSME players to increase their competitiveness and strengthen business-management capacity to not only survive but thrive during a time, as revealed at the 2021 World Economic Forum, MSME income across the world eroded by 80-90 percent.

GoBiz, an end-to-end business-solutions app from Gojek and a key tool for merchants to transform digitally, has now launched the GoBiz’s #JalanPinterJualan campaign as part of continuous efforts to support MSMEs in the culinary sector. The campaign supports MSME partners to grow sustainably through a series of business education and community efforts.

Since launching in 2018, GoBiz has grown along with the needs of its merchant users and is becoming the main gateway for culinary MSMEs to access various solutions and reach millions of customers within the GoTo ecosystem. Through the positive impact and response to campaigns like #JalanPinterJualan, GoBiz has enjoyed a 45 percent increase in users in the past year.[1]

Head of platform and GoFood merchant-marketing Gojek, Felicia Wijaya, said, “From the start, Gojek has been committed to being the best partner to accelerate MSME business and the GoBiz app is integral to us realizing this commitment. The GoBiz app supports MSMEs at each step of their business journey -- from upstream to downstream, starting from free and fast in-app registration, to marketing and managing culinary-product promo strategies on GoFood and on GoFood at Tokopedia. GoBiz also makes it easier to manage business operations digitally via GoKasir as well as to improve business financial management through GoModal by Findaya and integration with Bank Jago. It also enables merchants to accept digital payments via GoPay and provide them access to a series of education and training to improve their business skills.”

Christina Agustin, assistant deputy for Information Technology Development and Business Incubation at the Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (SOEs) Ministry, stressed the important role digital platforms play in advancing MSMEs. “As of October, 20.5 million MSMEs have gone digital and 83 percent of national MSMEs are dependent on digitalization. These facts prove the important role digital platforms have in the development of MSMEs, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. We appreciate Gojek enabling culinary MSMEs to go digital very easily with the GoBiz application. GoBiz and its numerous digital-business solutions provide the tools culinary MSMEs need to scale up from all sides of the business,” said Christina.

GoBiz positively impacts culinary MSME partners, which is reflected in data which includes:

1) Approximately 30 percent of GoBiz MSME partners increased the number of their branches during the January 2021 to September pandemic;

2) One out of four GoBiz culinary MSMEs partners created new jobs, as seen from the use of the in-app employee role feature.[1]

GoBiz’s #JalanPinterJualan campaign continues the Gojek commitment to support the growth of culinary MSMEs.

The GoBiz #JalanPinterJualan campaign reintroduces GoBiz’s comprehensive-business solutions and provides business knowledge to GoFood merchants. The campaign consists of the Bincang Biznis provisioning program, held both offline and online in various cities, as well as the Mitra Usaha Siap Jualan (MAJU) program, which helps new culinary merchants to get business assistance via online-group discussions. The campaign also encourages culinary MSME partners to actively network and share business knowledge via the GoFood Partner Community (KOMPAG).

Nova Putra Legian, business owner of Fried Chicken Geprek Gian and GoFood merchant representative, shared his experience using the GoBiz app: “Every business solution available on the GoBiz app has really helped Fried Chicken Geprek Gian in terms of sales, operations, online payment options as well as accessing business education and training. As a result, Fried Chicken Geprek Gian has increased its sales up to three times despite the pandemic challenges. Thank God, now we have 24 branches in Greater Jakarta, with more than 50 employees.”

“Through the GoBiz #JalanPinterJualan campaign, we hope to continue to strengthen GoBiz’s role in helping culinary MSMEs develop their businesses online, while at the same time fully supporting the government's program to digitize 30 million MSMEs by 2024,” Felicia concluded.
