Gojek distributes voucher packages to 50,000 healthcare workers

July 2021, 17

To express its appreciation for frontline health workers fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, digital on-demand service platform Gojek is distributing a package of discount vouchers to 50,000 healthcare professionals in Jakarta as part of its #SEMANGATNAKES campaign.

Healthcare workers can use the vouchers to access the full range of Gojek’s services, such as transportation (GoRide and GoCar), food delivery (GoFood), item delivery (GoSend), as well as grocery shopping and delivery (GoMart). The program will  be expanded to Bandung, Yogyakarta, Semarang and Surabaya, as the cities with the highest number of daily cases.

Gojek CEO Kevin Aluwi said Indonesia’s spirit of togetherness was one of the keys to fighting COVID-19.

“These vouchers are not comparable to the dedication of our healthcare workers, but we hope they can raise their spirits through our services. You are not alone, Gojek is always here for you,” he said.

The initiative is a continuation of Gojek’s previous support for healthcare professionals in 2020, which came in the form of distributing 500,000 meals from GoFood business partners as well as 65,000 GoRide and GoCar vouchers for healthcare workers in 131 COVID-19 hospitals across the country.

“The initiative is also in line with Gojek’s mission to improve the daily lives of Indonesians, including healthcare workers as the most important frontliners during the pandemic.”

In a statement, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin expressed his appreciation for Gojek’s #SEMANGATNAKES initiative.

“Collaboration from the private sector like Gojek will certainly help alleviate the daily struggles of healthcare workers as Indonesia’s frontliners who have been dedicated in handling COVID-19 since last year. We hope that more people  will be inspired by Gojek’s sustainable commitment in alleviating the pandemic’s effects,” he said.

Healthcare workers who wish to make use of the #SEMANGATNAKES voucher package can access more information on Gojek’s blog at http://www.go-jek.com/blog/gojek/voucher-semangatnakes/.

Along with the discount vouchers, Gojek also strives to alleviate the burden on healthcare workers through various initiatives.

In collaboration with Halodoc and alongside central and regional administrations, Gojek has held vaccination programs for their partners across the country, with a reach of 36 cities per regency. For customers wishing to be vaccinated, Gojek provides the #ANTERINVAKSIN voucher for a total discount of Rp 30,000 for trips to and from vaccination facilities.

For better safety in its services, Gojek has applied #ProteksiEkstra to its services to minimize the spread of COVID-19. This includes contactless delivery and payment, installing air purifiers and protective barriers in driver partners’ vehicles, a telemedicine service in collaboration with Halodoc, a mask verification feature and a curated list of business partners who have followed three out of the six health protocols according to WHO and the Health Ministry.

Gojek also routinely provides education for its ecosystem on COVID-19 and vaccines, ranging from in-app notifications to training sessions for its partners regarding health protocols, COVID-19 and the benefits of vaccination.
