GoGames, MainGame.com bring ‘Fruit Ninja’ and ‘Jetpack Joyride’ to Gojek app

August 2021, 06

As the COVID-19 pandemic keeps much of the world indoors, a great number of people have been online more than ever, with gadgets keeping them occupied. From streaming services to mobile gaming, the abundance of entertainment options can keep one’s eyes glued to the screen.

Gaming is one of the most popular types of entertainment currently experiencing a renaissance. A recent report by the International Data Corporation and LoopMe showed that an estimated 75 percent of the net rise in mobile gaming activity will remain after the pandemic subsides. Live multiplayer mobile games were also found to have outperformed in 2020.

GoGames, part of Southeast Asia’s leading mobile on-demand services and payments platform Gojek, along with its partner, Indonesian web-based gaming platform MainGame.com, will bring the widely enjoyed mobile games Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride to the Gojek app, expanding GoGames’ content collection for its users.

Gojek and MainGame.com first partnered up in 2020, enabling users to play a wide variety of games for free directly on GoGames in the Gojek app, in turn, saving users’ storage capacity by not requiring them to install standalone games.

With this collaboration, users can now play Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride through GoGames on their Gojek app without having to download the individual mobile game apps.

Jordy Herfandi, Gojek head of platform development for Third Party Platform, said that while gaming was a fast-growing industry in Indonesia, quality gaming experiences are not readily available to everyone because of limited storage capacity on mobile phones or limited access to information about games, among other reasons.

“By strengthening our partnership with MainGame.com, we are excited that more players will now be able to enjoy these free games on the Gojek app,” he said in a statement.

MainGame.com CEO Anton Soeharyo highlighted the gaming industry’s rapid growth, especially with more people finding gaming as a means to unwind and socialize during the pandemic.

“To enable more consumers to easily access their favorite games, we announced our partnership with Gojek to bring our games to the GoGames platform last year. This partnership has enabled MainGame.com and Gojek to keep more consumers engaged while growing Indonesia’s gaming ecosystem. With the addition of new games to GoGames, we are excited to further supercharge the Indonesian gaming ecosystem by enabling consumers to participate in live tournaments on these quality game titles,” he said.

Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride are exclusively distributed by Singapore-based gaming start-up Storms, which is MainGame.com’s strategic partner. Storms owns the exclusive rights to convert popular mobile games into social instant games' format with original core gameplay and assets, thus making the games available to a wider range of consumers.

Through GoGames, Gojek users can also compete with their friends and other players from all over Indonesia for daily rewards. There are more than 50 games and tournaments held daily, with prizes reaching millions of rupiah in GoPay credit.

To access Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride, Gojek users can click on the GoGames service banner on the Gojek homepage and select the games from the available MainGame.com games.
