August 2021, 31

Following the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Gojek, GoPay and Tokopedia have provided the entire Indonesian Olympics contingent with a token of appreciation for their efforts at the world’s largest sports festival.

The Indonesian contingent of 83 athletes, coaches, officials and supporters received a total of Rp 5 billion worth of benefits, such as GoFood, GoSend and GoCar vouchers worth Rp 1 million each, GoPay credit worth Rp 1 million, automatic GoClub (Gojek loyalty program) boost to the highest “Anak Sultan” level, as well as automatic TokoPoints (Tokopedia loyalty program) boost to the highest “Diamond” level with free shipping benefits.

Gojek, GoPay and Tokopedia’s token of appreciation was given in a symbolic ceremony on Thursday, attended by athletes Eko Yuli Irawan (weightlifting) and Diananda Diananda Choirunisa (archery), shooting coach Ebrahim Inanlou, doctors Carmen Jahja and Andhika Respati, as well as masseur Tohirno.

GoTo Group representative, Gojek chief of corporate affairs Nila Marita, said the athletes’ achievements were even more special as they happened during the COVID-19 pandemic, showing that it was possible to achieve extraordinary results with the spirit of rising together.

“The spirit of mutual cooperation and rising together is in line with the #BangkitBersama movement in Gojek, GoPay and Tokopedia. We hope that members of the Indonesian contingent can fully enjoy the benefits of Gojek, Tokopedia and GoPay for the next year,” she said.

“We also believe this will make a positive impact on local businesses, MSME partners, as well as driver partners in our ecosystem, which will in turn contribute to the national economic recovery.”

Shortly after the ceremony, Raja Sapta Oktohari, chief of Indonesia’s National Olympics Committee, praised Gojek, GoPay and Tokopedia for their relentless support for the entire contingent.

“Since returning from Tokyo, it has always been the athletes who are in the limelight for awards. Gojek, GoPay and Tokopedia showed that they not only focused on the athletes, but also the coaches, officials as well as the supporting team who worked behind the scenes in the spirit of gotong royong,” he said.

According to Okto, Gojek, GoPay and Tokopedia also showed the public that the athletes’ illustrious achievements do not come from individual efforts alone.

“Athletes compete on the field, but there are many hands hard at work behind the scenes, from chef de mission Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, coaches, nutritionists, the medical team, masseurs, supporting team, to the organizers. Together, they work under one goal of flying the Indonesian flag at the Olympics, the premiere multi-sport event,” he said.

“The Indonesian Olympic contingent inspired the nation through sports; during the pandemic, the games were like immunity-boosting entertainment for Indonesians, bringing surprises and miracles. The athletes’ efforts were also in line with the spirit of Indonesia’s 76th independence day, which provides a sense of hope, solidarity and peace for Powerful Indonesia, Growing Indonesia,.”

During the same event, Rosan also expressed his appreciation for Gojek, GoPay and Tokopedia for their attention to every member of the Indonesian contingent beyond the competing athletes.

“This has become a booster for the Indonesian sports community to give their all for the country on the international stage,” said Rosan.
