With the increasing popularity of e-commerce platforms and demand for logistics services, GoSend’s collaboration with Tokopedia has provided a positive impact to the GoTo ecosystem. According to Head of Logistics Gojek Steven Halim, in early 2021 GoSend recorded a 116 percent increase in sellers utilizing its services compared to the start of the pandemic, while Gojek driver-partners’ orders rose by 70 percent in 2021.

"We are delighted that the demand for quick delivery during the pandemic is also very much felt by business owners, where through the GoSend API (Application Programming Interface), thousands of partners and millions of sellers can use our services easily and directly through the integration of the business platform,” he said, adding that Gojek’s internal data recorded that the total number of GoSend API transactions by  top partners rose 41 percent in H1 2021.

Looking forward to  2022 trends, Gojek noticed the increased expectation and demand for reliable and fast delivery as more members of the public continue to use logistics services to ship basic daily needs, from groceries, office supplies, to medical equipment. At the same time, online businesses are increasingly turning to online logistics services, attracted to the convenience of  last-mile deliveries.

To ease its customers’ mind, GoSend will further strengthen its position as a trusted logistics service by providing extra protection for goods. Joining its range of insurance options, the Premium Insurance from GoSend will provide insurance protection with a dependent value of up toIDR20,000,000.

3. Deliver larger goods with GoSend’s Four-wheeler Fleet

GoSend users will be able to send goods in larger quantities with larger sizes through the GoSend four-wheeler fleet.

4. Efficient service using GoSend Multi-Delivery

Business owners can now deliver packages to multiple consumers at once through GoSend Multi-Delivery, which allows GoSend driver partners to pick up packages from one delivery address and deliver them to up to five different delivery locations. By providing the GoSend Multi-Delivery, it offers more efficient delivery times for both customers and driver partners, up to 30 percent savings in shipping costs, easier tracking, all the while reducing their carbon footprint. GoSend Multi-Delivery service will be present on a national scale.

Yudo Anggoro, Director of the Center for Policy and Public Management of the School of Business and Management, Bandung Institute of Technology (SBM ITB), noted that the pandemic has increased online shopping habits and the public demand for goods delivery services. This, among other things, has an impact on the exponential growth of first mile-last mile shipments, as well as the demands for real time tracking technology and reliable safety warranties for delivered goods.
