Gojek, a part of the GoTo Group, the largest digital ecosystem in Indonesia, has always been committed to advancing the country; whether it is through their services, by assisting their Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME) partners, and more. In order to further educate their driver partners, Gojek reactivated Bengkel Belajar Mitra, or Partner Learning Workshop (BBM), to prepare driver partners with various self-development classes and to improve their services.
Since its first outing in 2018, BBM has been an integral part of Gojek's ongoing commitment to deliver high quality services. Since that time, BBM has covered several training areas that support and enhance its partner’s’ ability in serving customers such as first aid, anti-sexual harrasement, safety driving, to entrepreneurship and financial management.
Furthermore, Gojek also continues to innovate in order to improve the quality of its driver partners. This commitment is mainly to cement Gojek drivers as the mainstay of the community that is known for its dependability. This innovation comes in the form of Tips Pintar within the GoPartner application.
The introduction of Tips Pintar has become a more convenient way for Gojek’s driver partners to access a wide selection of online training materials that are presented in a light, easy to understand, and comprehensive manner. Since it was first introduced back in 2020, Tips Pintar has reached almost 1,000,000 driver partners throughout Indonesia.
Tips Pintar and BBM itself are part of Gojek's broader commitment to continue providing the best service and position Gojek driver partners as the best and most reliable ride-hailing providers in the industry.
BBM Training to Support G20
The current edition of BBM, is expected to be able to provide the best services for customers, especially with the upcoming G20 Summit in Bali this November. In line with G20 values, Gojek aims to offer the best mobility services using electric vehicles, which signals the country’s commitment to reach net zero carbon emissions through energy transition, as well as help realize Indonesia’s potential to be among the top EV producers in the world.
“The start of the BBM activity, which will be followed by the presence of the GoRide Electric service, is our concrete support for the success and smooth running of the G20 Summit in Bali,” said GoRide’s Head of Global Marketing Stella Darmadi. She added, “BBM is one of our series of integrated and sustainable activities to continue to improve the quality of services for driver partners so that they become the mainstay of consumers.”
As explained by Stella, the BBM lessons include the topic of service excellence, the basics of English, as well as an introduction to EVs. The activity was held at Jimbaran Hub on Wednesday (21/09/2022), attended by hundreds of GoRide driver partners. They were trained to communicate with consumers better , in addition to supporting customer satisfaction with various cultures and backgrounds, which is essential on an island like Bali.
Moreover, partners also received training on how to converse in English through language classes; basics such as how to greet customers, confirm customer directions and locations, to help customers in an emergency. It is expected to help them communicate with delegates during the G20 summit, as well as international tourists in the future.
"Through BBM, Gojek driver partners can improve their skills and provide the best service for customers, make it easier for driver partners to communicate with international delegates, and prepare partners to provide maximum comfort in electric motorcycle services. With BBM, we hope to make an effort to appreciate the service spirit of our partners while empowering them to become the best service providers in the industry,” said Rayi Bimantara, District Head of Bali Gojek.
Electric Vehicle Training
In addition to self-development training, driver partners were also equipped with lessons on how to manage electric motors, from operation, maintenance , to repairs in the event of a breakdown. At the G20 Summit, Gojek driver partners will use electric vehicles from Electrum, a joint venture company founded by GoTo together with TBS Energi Utama, which focuses on building an electric two-wheeled vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia.
It was recently reported in June that partners are eager to change their vehicles to EVs. During the first month of commercial trial by the digital ecosystem in Jakarta, the number of service orders has doubled, and as much as 70 percent of the income of Gojek driver partners who use electric motorbikes from Electrum increased to Rp 46,000 per day.
