ANGERANG: Lion Training Center and Wings Flying School graduated almost 60 pilots, mechanics and cabin crew members on Thursday to support the airline as it expands its fleet this year, the airline said in a statement.
Seven pilots graduated from Wings Flying School, 30 mechanics passed the Basic Aircraft Maintenance course and 22 cabin crew mebers completed the Initial Flight Attendant Training course.
Lion Air president director Rusdi Kirana said “training is a must for airline industry and that is why we decided to have our own training units and facilities”.
The airline is scheduled to receive 16 Boeing 737-900ERs while Wings Air is set to get six ATR 72-500s.
Lion Training Center has just received a second Boeing 737-900ER simulator, an ATR 72-500 simulator and a wet drill facility to train cabin crew for simulated water landings. The training center also has a simulator for MD series aircraft.
Meanwhile, Wings Flying School, located in Cirebon, West Java, currently has four training aircraft. — JP
