fficers from the Marine Resources and Fisheries Surveillance Task Force (PSDKP) in Bitung, North Sulawesi, have intercepted a fishing boat flying the flags of both the Philippines and Indonesia off the Talaud Islands regency.
Bitung PSDKP head Pung Nugroho Saksono told the media on Tuesday the Indonesian-registered vessel, the KM Tuna Jaya, with a capacity of 3 gross tons used both nations' flags when operating.
'PSDKP officers who were on board the Macan Tutul 001 patrol boat intercepted the fishing boat as it was fishing illegally near Miangas Island in waters around the Talaud Islands regency,' said Saksono.
Saksono said that when intercepted on Sunday the KM Tuna Jaya, which carried one Indonesian and nine Filipino crew members, was not equipped with documents.
