olice say they have located the owner of the Zahro Express boat that caught fire and killed 24 people on Sunday, after pursuing him for questioning for several days.
Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono said Friday that investigators would send Yodi Mutiara Prima, the boat owner, a summons so his questioning could be held very soon.
“If he doesn’t come, we will pick him up,” Raden said.

The police previously visited Yodi’s house in North Jakarta but could not find him. They wish to question him as a witness to learn more about safety on the boat and matters relating to its operation.
The police have so far only named captain Mohammad Nali a suspect, charging him with negligence for sailing an unseaworthy vessel. Nali could face up to 10 years’ imprisonment if found guilty.
On Thursday, the National Police’s central forensics laboratory (puslabfor) conducted a incident reconstruction to try to discover what caused the boat to burst into flames.
The boat, which was bound for Tidung Island in Thousand Islands regency from Muara Angke Port in North Jakarta, caught fire on Sunday morning. As many as 130 people survived the incident and 16 remain missing. (jun)
