akarta's commuter line network was again disrupted on Wednesday when a train derailed between Manggarai in South Jakarta and Jatinegara in East Jakarta.

"Regarding the disruption, the route between Bekasi [in West Java] and Jakarta Kota [in West Jakarta] is being diverted through Pasar Senen, Central Jakarta," said PT KAI Commuter Jabodetabek (KCJ) via its official Twitter account.

The officials said that the train, identified as KA 1479, derailed at 07.43 a.m.

Officers from KCJ are handling the incident, the company added.

Due to the incident, services on several routes, such as Bogor, West Java, to Jakarta Kota, Bogor to Jatinegara, as well as Bekasi to Jakarta Kota, were disrupted.

The disrupted trips caused large crowds of passengers to build up at a number of stations, including Manggarai Station.
