evitalizing 1,000 water catchments, building a pond for fishing at Pulogebang bus terminal and handling social conflicts in areas prone to street brawls are among 10 priority programs to be realized next year by the East Jakarta municipality, an official has said.
East Jakarta Mayor Bambang Musyawardana said the priority programs were decided by the municipality’s regional development planning forum (musrenbang) on Tuesday.
The construction of a fishing spot at Pulogebang terminal, for instance, would provide a place for “public transportation passengers and residents who need leisure time,” said Bambang as quoted by beritajakarta.com.
The mayor said further that other priority programs were the renovation of heavily damaged school buildings, the construction of a type-D regional hospital in Makasar district and the construction of a park along the East Flood Canal in Duren Sawit.
The rest are the development of a food center in Balimester for street food vendors, an overpass to Pulogebang terminal, a throughway between Jl. KRT Radjiman Widyodinigrat and Jl. Raya Penggilingan and co-working spaces at sports and youth centers.
City secretary Saefullah, who was present at the musrenbang forum, said “the city will support such programs if residents need them.” (kkk)
