Twenty percent of roads in Depok, West Java, are in poor condition, an official has said.
Depok Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency head Manto said the city had prepared Rp 9 billion (US$675,000) to repair the damaged roads starting April.
“The repair works can only start after the finalization of the 2017 procurement fund [from the city budget], which is currently being processed,” Manto said on Thursday as quoted by tempo.co.
The city administration budgeted in 2016 Rp 12.9 billion for road maintenance, of which Rp 9 billion was allocated for housing road repairs, while the other Rp 3.9 billion was went to bridge maintenance.
Manto added that the agency could not repair the damaged roads while rain continued to pound the city. (wnd)
