tate-owned energy company Pertamina plans to implement the government’s policy to charge the same price for fuel in 54 remote cities and regencies across the nation by the end of this year.
“We have already made a road map to make these regions able to share a single fuel price,” Pertamina vice president for retail fuel marketing Affandi said during a press conference on Tuesday.
Affandi said a total 150 regions were included in the program to charge the same price for fuel, which for the subsidized gasoline known as Premium would be Rp 6,450 (48 US cents) per liter and for the subsidized diesel known as Solar would be Rp 5,150 per liter.

Without the policy, the prices of Premium in those remote areas could range between Rp 8,000 and Rp 15,000 per liter, while the price for Solar was between Rp 7,000 and Rp 18,000 per liter.
Currently, Pertamina has implemented the program, one of President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo's signature policies, on Batu Island in North Sumatra, in Central Siberut in West Sumatra, in Jepara in Central Java, on Raas Island in East Java, in Tanjung Pengaus in West Nusa Tenggara, in Waingapu in East Nusa Tenggara, in Wangi-wangi in Southeast Sulawesi, in Moswaren in West Papua and in Long Apari in East Kalimantan.
