“I have suggested to the management unit officials to hold more events for the public, even international [events] if necessary,” the head of the Jakarta Tourism and Culture Agency, Tinia Budiati, was quoted as saying on Tuesday at the City Council building in Central Jakarta.
Tinia believed that holding additional events at tourist sites would increase visitor numbers, and thereby support the Jakarta administration in achieving its target of Rp 26 billion (US$1.9 million) in tourism revenues.
The agency had booked Rp 18 billion In the first three quarters of this year, or 69 percent of its 2017 target. (ecn)
