Jakarta Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) official has reported the agency’s head, Yani Wahyu Purwoko, to the police for alleged assault, which reportedly resulted in bruises on the former’s face and body.
Jakarta Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Argo Yuwono confirmed the report, filed by a man named Wasnadi, and the subsequent investigation into the matter.
The assault allegedly occurred on Jan.14 at the Satpol PP office in Central Jakarta, Argo said, but was unable to confirm the cause of incident.
Details of the case will be revealed after investigators have finished questioning Wasnadi, he said on Tuesday as reported by tempo.co.
If found guilty of assault, Yani could face a maximum punishment of three months’ imprisonment.
Yani denied the allegations on Tuesday, claiming that he had only placed his hand on Wasnadi’s cheek, “like what a father would done to his child.”
He said he had done it to reprimand Wasnadi. (wnd/vny)
