View all search resultslarifying a previous report that claimed a fire had broken out at Pullman Hotel on Jl. MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday evening, a Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency official said the blaze occurred at the Annex Building, which is located next to the hotel.
"The fire was not at the hotel, but the Annex Building, which usually is used for [the hotel’s other facilities] meetings, parking and others," agency chief Subejo said on Wednesday.
Separately, Pullman public relations manager Pricilia issued a similar statement.
"There is false information. The fire didn't break out at the hotel but in a nearby building," she said as quoted by kompas.com.
The fire reportedly broke out at 7:30 p.m. on the 10th floor of the building, Subejo said, and the blaze had now been put out.
He added that 20 firetrucks were deployed to extinguish the flame.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire. (fac)
