Young karting racer Sergio Noor has secured his second title by winning the Eshark Rok Cup held at the Sentul International Circuit in Bogor, West Java, just a week after taking the high ground on the podium of the X30 race in Sepang, Malaysia.
Sergio, who has recently been elected as an ambassador for Telkom Indonesia’s Telkomsel T Cash product, competed with teammate Adrian Hassan, who finally parked his vehicle in second position.
Commenting on his win, Sergio, who currently drives for the Riser ShaDaff racing team, said he was not only very grateful but also greatly motivated to achieve more in future races.
“My foremost goal right now is to train harder, so that I can snatch another win at the international level in Italy. It would be a stunning hat trick for my career if I could materialize that dream,” he said.
Telkomsel VP corporate communication Abe Deny acknowledged the elementary school student’s achievement, praising Sergio as a spotted talent that needed to be continuously groomed and trained so he could reach his full potential in the future.
“He has been able to uplift the country’s pride at such a young age. This looks good on us as a country.”
The Riser ShaDaff team has been one of the few karting teams to send racers abroad and grab titles in both local and international championships.
