A construction worker was found dead on Saturday after a ladder fell on him in a housing complex in Serpong, South Tangerang.
The worker, who has been identified as Riswanto Sabin, died after falling from a set of scaffolding while holding the ladder, which then fell on him resulting in fatal injuries.
“The ladder hit his head so hard, causing the left side of his skull to crack and making him bleed through his ear,” Jakarta Police spokesperson Comr. Argo Yuwono said on Sunday as quoted by Tempo.co.
Riswanto was holding the ladder while his friend, Kosman, climbed to install electricity in a house located in the De Latinos BSD housing complex in Rawabuntu, Serpong. However, both workers lost their balance and fell down.
Kosman suffered several injuries as a result of the fall, but Riswanto was unable to survive his injuries. They were both taken to Eka Hospital in Serpong for examination. (ris)
