Guess what: Isyana joins forces with sister

JP/Donny Fernando

Singer Isyana Sarasvati has collaborated with her older sister, Rara Sekar, for the song “Luruh” (Falling), which is part of the soundtrack for the upcoming drama Milly & Mamet.

The sisters jointly wrote the song to capture trying times the eponymous characters go through.

“We started by reading the entire script for the film. Then, Rara and I immersed ourselves into the scene to fill the shoes of Milly and Mamet when they are at their lowest point,” Isyana told kompas.com.

For the song, Isyana and Rara created a melancholic classic pop arrangement and lyrics that convey grief, despair, disappointment and hope.

Aside from “Luruh”, Isyana also wrote the song “Stargazing” and plays a supporting role in the movie. Milly & Mamet will hit theaters on Thursday.
