Talk of the week: Korean Cultural Center holds poster, illustration competition

The Korean Cultural Center Indonesia in South Jakarta is holding a poster and illustration competition as part of the 100th anniversary of the March First Movement and the establishment of the interim government of the Republic of Korea in China.

Participants have a chance of winning a total of Rp 25 million (US$1,760) in cash prizes by registering in the competition and submitting their poster or illustration to https://goo.gl/PjLmXi.

The competition, which is open to Indonesian and Korean citizens, has two categories: students and the general public. Students can also participate in the public category.

The theme of the competition is 100 years of the March 1 Movement and the interim government of the Republic of Korea.

Each participant is allowed to submit two works of art at the most; they can be created digitally or hand-drawn.

The submission deadline is Feb. 14 at 6 p.m. Winners will be announced on Feb. 20 and awards handed out on Feb. 23.

The first-place winner of the student category will receive Rp 4 million, second-place winner Rp 3 million and third-place Rp 2 million. In the public category, the first-place winner will get Rp 5 million, second-place winner Rp 4 million and third place Rp 3 million.

Both the student and public category will have two consolation prize winners who will get Rp 1 million each. Every winner will also receive a certificate.
