mid attacks against the credibility of the General Elections Commission (KPU), the public have been invited to tabulate and safeguard vote recapitulation on voting day in an attempt to avoid manipulation.
The website kawalpemilu.org, established by a community of volunteers working together with election watchdog the Network for Democracy and Electoral Integrity (Netgrit), will gather photos of C1 vote tally forms, which record the final vote count of each polling station, from all stations and subdistricts across the country.
People from all over the archipelago can participate by taking photos of the form and uploading them to the website where the public can see the forms and make a report if they find something irregular with the forms.
“People only need to take a picture of the C1 form at the polling station after the tabulation there and upload it to our website,” kawalpemilu.org initiator Ruly Achdiat said recently.
To monitor all of the 809,500 polling stations, Ruly said the community needed more than 3,000 volunteers for the tabulation and as many people as possible to collect the C1 forms.
“Each volunteer can collect forms from more than one station,” he said.
