The Health Ministry announced 609 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 27,549.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, the ministry’s disease control and prevention director general, Achmad Yurianto, added that 22 more people had died of the disease, bringing the death toll to 1,663.
The total number of recovered patients has also increased to 7,935.
The capital city recorded 60 new confirmed cases, bringing the total tally to 7,541. Meanwhile, East Java reported 213 new cases, Papua 94, South Sulawesi 44 and West Java 18.
The virus has spread to all of the country's 34 provinces. (dfr/mfp)
