The Health Ministry announced 4,465 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 257,388.

According to data released by the ministry on Wednesday, 140 more people have died of the disease, bringing the death toll to 9,977.

The total number of recovered patients has also increased to 187,958.

The capital city recorded 1,133 new confirmed cases, bringing the total tally to 65,687. Meanwhile, West Java reported 516 new cases, East Java 338, Central Java 257, Banten 216 and West Sumatra 204.  

The virus has spread to all of the country's 34 provinces. (kmt)
