The Health Ministry announced 5,418 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Saturday, bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 527,999.

According to data released by the ministry on Saturday, 125 more people have died of the disease, bringing the death toll to 16,646.

The total number of recovered patients has also increased to 441,983.

The ministry reported that 37,299 people were tested on Saturday, bringing the total number of people tested to 3,766,860.

The capital city recorded 1,370 new confirmed cases, bringing the total tally to 134,331. Meanwhile, Central Java reported 1,118 new cases, East Java 453, West Java 367, Banten 234 and Central Kalimantan 220.

The virus has spread to all of the country's 34 provinces. (kmt/kuk)
