s an industrial assistance and trade facilitator, the Customs and Excise Directorate General supports the operation of domestic industry through various customs facilities, including bonded-zone facilities. Based on Finance Minister Regulation (PMK) number 131/PMK.04/2018, the zone refers to a bonded-storage place to store imported goods and/or goods originating from other places within the Customs area to be processed or combined before being exported or imported for use.
"Bonded-zone facilities can be provided to companies after fulfilling requirements according to Article 7 PMK number 131/PMK.04/2018 and fulfilling obligations as stated in Article 15 PMK number 65/PMK.04/2021," said Hatta Wardhana, head of the Sub-Directorate of Public Relations and Customs Counseling.
Hatta shared that the head of the Central Java and DIY Regional Customs Office (Kanwil) provided bonded-zone facilities to PT Busanaremaja Agracipta Kalasan on Wednesday (13/07). The company was able to secure a zone after presenting a hybrid-business process to the officials. This was also attended by Yogyakarta Customs and KPP Madya 2 Tangerang.
The company belongs to the apparel sector and is based in Sleman, DIY province. It is the 12th company to be granted a bonded-zone facility in 2022. Amin Tri Sobri, head of Customs facilities at the Central Java and DIY Regional Customs Office, said that the provision of this facility is a manifestation of the government’s efforts to encourage National Economic Recovery (PEN) through programs to increase exports, absorb labor and invest.
Meanwhile in the capital city, the head of the Jakarta Regional Customs Office granted a permit for certain treatment of bonded-zone facilities to PT Sari Dumai Oleo on Monday (11/07). The permit was granted one hour after the company presented its company profile and application, based on the company’s intention to change the boiler-plant system, which previously used a coal-fired system, to a gas-fired system.
"We are changing the system to support the use of clean, environmentally friendly energy and increasing effectiveness for production activities," said Hartono Ledi, proxy for the board of directors of PT Sari Dumai Oleo.
The Semarang Customs Office also received a visit in order to explain the business process of determining IT-inventory empowerment for business actors in the Kendal Special Economic Zone (KEK) from PT Borine Technology Indonesia on Wednesday (15/06). Like PT Busanaremaja Agracipta Kalasan, the presentation was also carried out in a hybrid manner in the Semarang Customs meeting room and through a video-conference application. It was then followed by a testing session to determine the feasibility of PT Borine Technology Indonesia as the recipient of the facility.
The company is known to manufacture household appliances and plans to expand the production site, which is expected to be able to improve the economy by employing labor in the area around the company. Moreover, they also regularly collaborate with MSMEs to support the implementation of their production activities. They applied to be granted a spot in order to obtain a deferred import-duty facility as a company located in the special economic zone.
“Easy access and licensing for business actors is one way to improve the Indonesian economy. It is hoped that providing this facility will have a multiplier effect on the Indonesian economy," concluded Hatta.
