Game of Thrones just released its fifth episode. Highlights include (warning: spoilers alert):

Sansa , Brienne and Littlefinger reunited

“Did you know about Ramsay?” Sansa asked Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish in the opening scene of this week’s episode, proceeding to confront the man who is the source of her suffering to tell her what he thinks Ramsay did to her.

Littlefinger seems hesitant to answer that question.

Sansa says she wants to kill him and he says he’ll do as she says.

Later, before Littlefinger leaves the compound, he suggests that Sansa request help from her uncle Brynden “The Blackfish” Tully.

Arya on a mission

Arya is still training with the Waif and it’s clear she still has much to do to improve. Jaqen H’gar arrives and accompanies her to the Hall of the Faces where he tells Arya that the Faceless Men were once slaves from Valyria and were given a gift from the Many-Faced God.

Arya is then given her next mission, to kill an actress who’ll be performing a play in the square. The play is about Ned Stark’s execution.

She later tells Jaqen of her plan to kill the actress by poisoning the rum the lady drinks.

A new king for the Salt Throne

Just when Yara Greyjoy is busy convincing her peoples that she deserves to be their queen with full support from her brother Theon, their uncle Euron comes into the scene out of nowhere.

He proudly admits that he killed his own brother Balon and claims that he is the one who knows how to command a fleet. He claims that he will seduce Daenerys and together they will conquer the seven kingdoms.

And thus, the new king is chosen. His first mission after the ceremony is to kill his nephew and niece. Thankfully, Yara and Theon fled the scene, taking the family’s best ships.

Jorah bids farewell to Khaleesi

Jorah comes clean about his love for Daenerys and makes a decision to bid farewell to her by showing his greyscale hand.

The mother of dragons commands Jorah to find a cure and return to her when she takes the seven kingdoms.

The new red woman

Back in Mereen, Tyrion and Varys have been doing a pretty good job keeping things together.

Tyrion comes forth with an idea to build a good image for the mother of dragons, by asking for an endorsement from the high red priestess.

Enter Kinvara, a green eyed, red-haired young woman, who wears a similar “anti-aging” necklace to Melisandre’s. Kinarava agrees to spread the word that Daenerys is Azor Ahai, meaning the chosen one. But here’s the irony, previously it had been Stannis whom Melisandre had claimed as the one and well, look how that turned out for him.

The death of Hodor

It all started with Bran decided to visit his dream-vision alone. He saw a troop of zombies or wights and came face to face with the Night King, the white walker leader, who was able to see Bran and marked him. The mark leads the white walkers and wights to visit Bran in real life.

Meera, who sees these uninvited guests outside the cave, runs back inside to wake Bran from his vision. In his vision. He sees the young Wylis (Hodor).

Bran then 'warged' into Hodor as they are trying to escape through the exit door at the back end of the cave. Hodor leans back against the door preventing the wights from exit while Meera drags Ban away from the cave. She keeps telling Hodor to “hold the door!”.

Her words are heard in Bran’s vision where Wylis collapses on the ground and shouts the same words until he eventually shortens the phrase to “hodor”.

Back in reality, the episode ends as Hodor is clawed to death by the wights. (kes)
