fter being introduced at Taiwan’s Computex Taipei event in May this year, the Asus Zenfone 3 officially entered Indonesia on Wednesday.

“What differentiates this one from other smartphones is its luxurious design,” the company's general manager for Asia Pacific Rex Lee said as quoted by kompas.com, adding that the latest series was also equipped with better camera features. “The photo results of Zenfone 3 are similar to a DSLR [camera]; it is currently the smartphone with the best quality camera in the world.”

Among the Zenfone 3’s camera features are the Pixel Master 3.0 with 16 and 8 megapixel resolutions, a four-axis Optical Image Stabilizer that is able to detect and keep hand movements from blurring photos, and a three-axis Electronic Image Stabilizer that ensures a steady shot. Using a sensor from the latest Sony IMX298, the camera also boasts the capability of focusing on close-up subjects in 0.03 seconds.

In addition to 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass, the smartphone comes in four different colors, namely moonlight white, shimmer gold, aqua blue and sapphire black, and is available in two screen versions: 5.5 and 5.2 inch. Both use the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and ZenUI 3.0 interface.

Prices reportedly start at Rp 4 million (US$305). (kes)
