Whatever way you want to twist it, all Bloody Marys consist of the same basic ingredients: tomato juice, vodka and spices, such as Tabasco, Worcestershire sauce and a dash of black pepper. The Bloody Mary can be an assertively punchy drink, some people say, even a masculine beverage.
The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta at Mega Kuningan will bring back the "Mary" to its distinguished Sunday Martini Brunch, which features a selection of 21 different martinis. Its signature Mary-tini will arrive at Prime Steakhouse this July.
There are 10 kinds of Mary-tinis, but only three are considered outstanding. These are its Tokyo Martini (with wasabi), Beef Bullion Martini (a sorbet-like beverage) and Bloody Maria (with tequila).
The brunch's selection of main courses, prepared by chef de cuisine Frank Koppelkamm, includes pan-seared beef sirloin, mashed potatoes, chasseur sauce, grilled pork chop, lyonaisse potatoes and apple compote.
It also boasts lobster glazed with bernaisse sauce, mesclun greens, lamb navarin, root vegetables, spicy grilled chicken, pak choy, potato wedges, seared salmon, lemon cous cous, roasted tomato sauce, chimichurri sauce wiener schnitzel, potato and cucumber salad, triple sandwich teaser and porcini ravioli with truffle cream sauce.
There is also a dessert buffet and live cooking stations.
Guests can choose either to have an unlimited selection of martinis, sparkling wine, red or white wines and beers, or unlimited fresh juices, soft drinks and ice teas.
Meanwhile, in celebration of Bastille Day, the Ritz-Carlton at Pacific Place will have the Bastille Brunch on July 13. Bastille Day is a French national holiday that is celebrated on July 14 annually. The brunch will be held at Pacific Restaurant & Lounge.
Executive chef Sean Macdougall will create a special Sunday brunch that features the best of French regional cuisine.
Also, Ritz-Carlton, Pacific Place will welcome guest chef Philippe Lechat of Institut Paul Bocuse. He will host five dinners showcasing his culinary talent gained at Michelin-rated restaurants across France.
