JAKARTA: Celebrities tend to announce updates to their relationship status through press conferences or releases, but racecar driver Ananda Mikola chose to tell all in court.
During a court hearing on Thursday, the speedster admitted to having a special relationship with actress Marcella Zalianty. Ananda was appearing in court as a witness in the case of Rully, Marcella’s employee who is charged with kidnapping and torturing Agung Setyawan.
During his testimony, Ananda initially said Marcella was his best friend but later while on the stand he said the actress was his girlfriend. Both have been named as suspects in the case.
“You said before that she is your girlfriend?” the judge queried when Ananda used the words “best friend” while giving evidence.
“Oh yes,” replied Ananda, according to detik.com.
Ananda Mikola and actress Marcella Zalianty were arrested along with six other people for their alleged involvement in the crime.
After the hearing, Ananda refused to repeat his words for the media. “I said it before the judge,” the driver said.
Ananda merely confirmed the judge’s question about he and Marcella calling each other.
“We have known each other for a long time, so isn’t it normal to call each other?” he said. –JP
