SMS: Military fights terrorism

Y

our comments on the intention of the Indonesian Military (TNI) to take part in the fight against terrorism, which is supported by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

I have seen people die from bombings all over the world, including in Indonesia. I have seen places of worship ransacked and burned down in the name of religion. I have seen a boy crying as he watched his house torched by a group of people in Pekanbaru recently, they said the house was a brothel and could spoil the holy month of Ramadan.

Enough is enough, stop trying to impose your own values on the rest of the world by making others suffer, because that's not the value of true religion. And you, human rights activists, stop defending these acts of brutality because their actions are inhumane. Mr. President be tough, we support the TNI's role in the fight against terrorism in line with the regulation. Bravo, TNI!

I think the state gave the police department a mandate to secure and serve the public after it separated from the military (TNI). In relation to the fight against terrorism, the government should optimize the role of the police force. The TNI is busy enough defending this great country, which does need its serious attention.

With the TNI's support in the fight against terrorism, I believe all terrorists can be caught soon.

Former president Soeharto did it, and it was obviously a wrong step. In this reformation era, the government wants to adopt the same system, but in a different context.

In Soeharto's era, the purpose was to catch people who criticized and argued against his government. In SBY' era, it is to fight terrorism.

It is apparent that our government and the House of Representatives never learn from past failures. Why don't they formulate a new and better system? As this issue relates to religion, it is good the spiritual leaders have been asked to help change the minds of those who are following the wrong path.

It is a great idea! As the TNI may have more well-trained staff to do the intelligence work. I hope they, TNI and POLRI, will team up, for Indonesia's sake. May God bless Indonesia.

Terrorism is not only a national issue but a global one. Every peace-loving person must fight against it. Terrorists are our enemy; they must be rooted out and destroyed. I do believe that, it is not only an expression made by the President. Fortunately, he is now working hard to catch them and his re-election gave us hope they will all be caught soon, as, with the President's support, the Indonesian Army will act fast.

His words to support the military show the world that Indonesia hates terrorism. I think the President has given us a great way to demolish terrorism and I support every policy he has made to protect this country. So, people, act and work together and help the government to make Indonesia a better place.
