Your comments on the call by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to all Indonesians to wear batik today after UNESCO's declaration of batik as a cultural heritage of humanity from Indonesia.

I have been wearing batik and ethnic accessories for work and otherwise since 2004, out of the newfound love for my home country Indonesia!

President SBY *s call to wear batik is a good move to induce the Indonesian people to appreciate their own cultural products.

It is a proper way to show appreciation, instead of getting angry and acting irrationally when others allegedly claim our cultural heritage as theirs. Whether I am wearing batik on that day depends on the circumstances. If I have to do a dirty job, I will not wear batik.

I strongly agree with the calling on to wear batik. I think it's a great idea to start loving our cultural heritage. Modernization and westernization have had the most influence in diminishing our respect for our own cultural heritage, which I find incredible.

I will definitely wear batik on Friday. This simple movement of showing our pride in our own cultural heritage hopefully can touch other aspects of our lives as a nation, the love of being Indonesian. C'mon fellow Indonesians, wear batik on Friday. Don't forget, you'll look great in your batik.

Of course I love batik, only because it's more fashionable now. Wearing batik shows our pride as Indonesians. We must be aware of preserving our cultural heritage.

Younger generations must know that Indonesia is a country rich in culture and tradition. We love you full, Indonesia.

Before wearing batik, just make sure it's not made in China.

Yes, I will proudly wear batik on Friday. Come on people, that is a good call. We don't need to have any doubts about that!

Especially with what happened recently, i.e. another country claiming our cultural heritage as theirs, a really silly thing that still manages to bother me.

So wear your batik. And ask all your Malaysian friends, if you have any, to admit this is ours, not theirs. (I'm doing it with my Malaysian friends too).

Sure, batik is just an example that Indonesia is very rich in culture. In Ciamis, my regency, the regent also made a similar call.

Of course I'll wear batik on Friday. I often do anyway. It's a beautiful and creative textile, and an integral feature of Indonesia's culture.

Yes, I will wear batik on Friday.

For sure, I will participate. It's a sign of victory over arrogant Malaysia about its bold claim on the Discovery channel.

Wearing batik makes me proud to be Indonesian and gives me a sense of appreciation of Indonesia's national heritage that may soon become world heritage.

It also means preserving the cultural heritage that may boost inter-generation dialogue.

Yes of course, I will wear batik on Friday and not only me, but all my students and other teachers too. By wearing batik, we can keep and maintain our national heritage. Thanks to UNESCO for declaring batik as our cultural heritage before Malaysia claims it as theirs.

I wear batik at almost every event, be it a wedding party, an opening ceremony, etc. I'm proud of wearing batik even though I'm from Sulawesi.

On Friday, I'd rather put on my long sleeve casual top, blue jeans, big buckle belt and cowboy boots. I will put on a batik if I am attending a wedding ceremony or another joyous occasion.

First of all, let us celebrate this joyous occasion. We have finally gained international recognition for a major part of our rich culture. Of course we should wear batik on the day. But what about our less fortunate brothers who do not have any? Should we give out free batiks to the poor and homeless? It would help promote our culture and social awareness.
