JAKARTA: Nino Fernandez might have serious kind of face, but this 25-year-old model-turned-actor insists he can act funny.
“I might not have a funny face; my face is all serious,” Nino said, and continued, “but you see, I’ve challenged myself to play in any comedy flick.”
He said he was glad he finally landed a main role in the comedy Get Married 2; the half-German actor also said he could not wait to get his hands back on another script for a similar movie.
“Acting in a comedy is such a great challenge. You have to work hard somehow to make the audience laugh and enjoy your act,” said the boyfriend of Miss Indonesia 2009 Kerenina Sunny Halim.
“I think [the skill to act in a] comedy is the highest level of acting,” he added.
Nino also said he had been offered parts in movies that passed off as comedies, but had turned them down.
“The movies weren’t really comedies, while I actually want real comedies,” said Nino, who also acted in Terowongan Casablanca (The Casablanca Tunnel), Coklat Stroberry (Chocolate Strawberry) and Claudia/Jasmine.
“Someday, I want to focus on acting only in comedies,” he added. — JP
